Well I am back in the Health Center... listening to a little bit of Billy Talent. I am pumped about that, I brought my Ipod and speakers, so I will be rocking out to tunes all night... that's right in a very air conditioned building, doing nothing and getting paid for it. So its early on in the shift and I already had a patient... with a cut, yes I get paid to give out bandaids, I know you all wish you had my job don't you. So I have been reading this book, its called "Hope in Hell" its about a group called Medecins Sans Frontieres, in North America referred to as Doctors without Boarders. So before I read this book I had only heard very little about all of these different groups... the "without boarders". My sister at one time during University worked with Engineers without Boarders. Anyway back to Doctors without Boarders, one thing that really struck me when I read it was in a chapter called "We don't need another Hero". They were interviewing a doctor and asking why he was doing this? His response was "People hear about MSF and say 'you're going to get nominated for sainthood,' and it's not at all like that. I consider myself a person after his own self-interests. It's rewarding to bring medical care to these people, but I'm not doing it for them - I mean, I am, but I go there because it feels right for me, not because I think I'm helping the world." I guess I am not really sure of my view on this... on one hand, if you try to think of it as helping the world.. its too overwhelming, and if they become people that you start to care about will you still do what you are there to do, or will feelings get in the way? but on the other hand, do you really enjoy your job if you are doing it just for yourself? Or when does it become bad to care about your patients? Do you then get caught up in it all? Anyway enough rambling on that topic.
This book has also reminded me how lucky and blessed we are! I have an outstanding family, wondering friends, a great job, an nice place to live, a good car... What did I do to deserve all of this? I realize that God has a great big plan, but how did I fall into this part of the plan, with an abundance of health care, plenty of food, and all of the luxuries we enjoy in North America. I guess different people are blessed in different ways... Well its just about 5:30 and I have to print off some stuff... I may be back later. Emergency Medical Technician On Duty - Out

Emergency Medical Technician On Duty - Ryan
Well... if anyone still checks this old thing, you'll know that it has been a long time since I have been on here. But as I was sitting here pondering life, drinking my 'Fruit Plus Veggies" Juice Box at Mitchell's Gourmet Foods Health Center... I was like hey I am going to check out my blog and maybe write on it. Summer + MD Ambulance = not very much of a life... unless you consider working all the time good... as I do enjoy work, its a lot more than I thought it would be, but who am I kidding, I never say no. I guess I am just figure if I don't say no, I will get more banked hours and then I can take a nice holiday in the winter... when there is less hours anyway. So how about that heat... I have recently joined a weight loss program, its called Temperature 34 + Black Vest + Black Shirts + Black Pants. I did get an email today from work, stating that due to the heat and health and safety of employees, it will be temporalily optional to wear our vests, so I am pretty pumped about that. Well I think I have had enough excitement for one day... one person has come in with a sore back... How will I ever keep up with the demand! Well I am going to surf the net for something to do. Emergency Medical Technician On Duty... Out.

Whats New... lots!!!
So its pretty much been forever since the last time I blogged. Well a lot has changed... I am no longer working in North Battleford, I got a job in Saskatoon!!! With MD Ambulance, so I am pretty excited about that! I have been working here since the beginning of November, and so far I really like it. Its a lot different than North Battleford, way bigger call volume. But its so good to be back in Saskatoon, closer to friends and family, and a lot closer to Tamarah when she gets home from New Zealand, which is coming pretty soon!!! Just over Two more weeks... I can't wait! I Miss You Tamarah!!! So I am living in Saskatoon now, so thats pretty awesome no more driving from Langham everyday. I am living in a basement suite on the east side in Lakeridge, its pretty great, I love living in Saskatoon! So thats pretty much whats new. Talk to you all later!

Jason and Sam's Wedding

So Jason and Sam's wedding was great, I had a really good time and the whole thing went really well, so thats a good thing, I was really tired after it though. We stayed to clean up after the dance so I think that I got home at like 2:00 or 2:30 but its all good, it was fun! Since the wedding my knee has really been bothering me though, I am not sure what thats all about, really the only comfortable position is when I am sitting and it gets stiff really quick, so I who knows. So I still haven't hear back from WPD Ambulance in North Battleford, but hopefully that will be soon. So if I don't get that job I really have no idea what to do next.... I mean I know God is faithful and will provide me with something, and what ever it is I am sure it will be great, and part of his plan, but I guess sometimes its hard not knowing whats next, but I completely trust that God will lead me where he wants me! Well I should get going, I am going to call Tamarah soon(I am excited about that)! Talk to you all later!

Way Too Long....

So yeah I know, its been a long time, way too long, so long that nobody probably reads this anymore, but that's ok I am still going to post. So wow where to start, well lets see I am currently in the hiring process with WPD Ambulance in North Battleford, so I am kinda hoping to get that job. I really don't know where I am suppose to be as far as a career... but I am pretty sure I would like some experience working as an EMT, so yeah hopefully it all works out. In other news Tamarah is in New Zealand, both exciting and sad. I am really happy for her and excited that she gets to go, but kinda sad that I will not see her for about 4 1/2 months.... Well I will still get to talk to her, just not as much, and I can write letters and emails, so its not like I will not talk to her for that long. (Tamarah I Miss You) Also recently I started to play on the worship team at corner stone again, so that is really exciting for me... but if I get this job in North Battleford I am not sure how much I will be able to play. Well I should be off. I have posted a picture from the airport the day Tamarah left. Talk to you all later.

Where am I supposed to be?
Do you ever feel like you're not sure where God wants you right now at this point in your life? You can kind of feel it inside that where you are headed is not what he has planned for you? Well I was recently in the Recruitment process with the Regina Fire Department and I don't for some reason it just didn't seem like that was the place for me, well I mean I will admit that I didn't really want to move to Regina, but then I didn't get an interview, and I thought that I would be upset that I didn't, but I wasn't. To tell you the true I was almost relieved, but then I was thinking, well that was my shot at a Fire Fighting Job.... So the next day I read my email, and I had gotten an email from the Prince Albert Fire Department, and my application was accepted to go and write a test, so that is coming up on Tuesday. So maybe that's a place for me, and maybe its not, I just pray that God will guide me in the direction that he wants me to go! So in other news my sister and Josh are Married, their wedding was on May 20th, It was a great time I am posting some pictures from it...
